Takes 2 Client Feature: Bob Gordon
Every client has a story of how they ended up at Takes 2 Fitness. Some came from other fitness clubs; others came for the programs and levels of membership Takes 2 offers. For Bob Gordon, it was because of a chance meeting in the lobby of American Center, Tower 2 where Takes 2’s West End location is housed.
“I met Jeff in the lobby and we talked about Takes 2. I told him I wanted to work out with a trainer,” Bob recalls. “I worked in the same building so it was obviously convenient.”
And thus began a relationship that has now spanned four years.. and counting. Bob initially wanted to lose 15 pounds. Before long, he had done it. He soon noticed another change to his body. “My lower back used to give me problems. Once I started working my abs and upper body, I felt less strain on my back.”
As Bob began to see results, he became a student of the process of working out. He didn’t just want to become healthier. He wanted to enjoy the work involved in staying fit. He has learned those life-changing techniques from a variety of trainers who have helped him over the years like Caralyn Hammonds and David Moss. “I enjoy the camaraderie,” he grins, quickly – and a bit sheepishly – admitting that one of his favorite topics during a typical training session is food. “I like to eat and the gym helps me work it off.”
One of Bob’s first impressions of Takes 2 was the atmosphere. “It was clean, the equipment was well maintained, the trainers were all friendly and goal driven,” He remembers. “It was very inviting.” He especially likes how Takes 2 trainers build relationships with their clients that keep them excited about coming back to the gym.
Bob no longer works in American Center but his love of Takes 2 Fitness brings him back week after week to work out. “It’s not just about losing weight. It’s about being stronger, “Bob says with the slightest hint of seriousness. “Being stronger makes you feel better.”
